Music Theatre Philly, a non-profit performing arts training ground for children of all ages is thrilled to present their summer camp season. This year, MTP will present two distinct summer programs: a Pre-K camp for ages 3 - 5 and a camp for rising K - 6 graders. Each week features a unique theme including hits from Broadway and Hollywood like Wicked, Hamilton and Matilda. The sessions end in a live performance for the whole family.
Spend the Summer in Music Theatre Philly’s new home!
In 2024, Music Theatre Philly acquired NEST Philly which served families with infants and toddlers. Since then, MTP has moved into the NEST building at 1301 Locust Street offering larger studios, smaller rooms for private instruction, an interactive playspace and has expanded the offerings for families with children of all ages.
NEW for Pre-Schoolers
With the acquisition of NEST Philly, MTP has rolled out a new summer camp for preschoolers.
Each week, the campers will focus on growing their independence, social skills and exploring the world around them through active play and the performing arts. The campers will learn two songs and dances based on the weekly theme. Some themes include The Little Mermaid, The Wizard of Oz and Frozen. Each session ends in a live performance.
Pre-K Camp runs from Monday through Friday from 9 am to 12 pm with extended care options available.
A MUSICAL REVUE EVERY WEEK
During a one-week Musical Revue session, K-2 and 3-6 grade campers will learn songs and dances based on popular movies and musicals. The 3-6 grade campers will work with the teaching artists to create an original script for the revue. All campers will create costumes, sets and props for the big show. Themes include Disney on Broadway, Descendants, Wicked and Swiftie Session!
K - 6 Grade Camp runs Monday through Friday from 9 am to 3 pm with extended care options available.
NEW TWO WEEK JUNIOR MUSICALS!
Two week junior musical sessions are now available for K - 6 grade campers. In two weeks, the campers will put on an entire musical that will be presented on the last Friday of the two-week session. The two shows available are Matilda Jr and Moana Jr. Visit our website to see the weeks these sessions are available.
The performances for all of our sessions will be held in-house at our 1301 Locust location and all families and friends are invited to come watch!
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MTP CAMPER
Every morning, campers and families are greeted by MTP’s friendly staff as they get ready for an active day. The morning starts with a full camp warm up to prepare their bodies and voices for singing and dancing. From there, the campers break off into smaller groups to rehearse for their big show at the end of the session. In between rehearsals, campers play engaging theatre games and create arts and crafts projects that are used during the performance. Whether your child is a musical theatre enthusiast or just starting out, MTP’s camp is the perfect place for them to grow in skill and confidence!
